Account Manager

Location: Midrand, Johannesburg
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Salary Range: R15 000 – R20 000 per month (experience dependent)

Role Overview

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients, distributors, and sales partners within a fast-growing FMCG and consumer goods environment. This role focuses on relationship management, account growth, sales performance, and ensuring consistent service delivery across assigned accounts.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, relationship-driven, and experienced in FMCG, beverages, or consumer product sales environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients, distributors, and sales partners

  • Grow account revenue through upselling, cross-selling, and territory expansion

  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring high levels of service delivery

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing and new markets

  • Conduct regular account visits, reviews, and performance check-ins

  • Ensure accurate order processing, stock availability, and follow-up on deliveries

  • Monitor sales performance against targets and provide regular reports to management

  • Resolve client queries, complaints, and operational issues efficiently

  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, logistics, marketing) to support account success

  • Support promotions, product launches, and sales initiatives as required

Minimum Requirements

  • 2–4 years experience in an Account Management, Sales Executive, or similar role

  • Experience within FMCG, beverages, consumer goods, or distribution environments preferred

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills

  • Target-driven with a proactive sales mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously

  • Strong administrative and reporting skills

  • Valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle (preferred but not essential)
